Our Story

On April 5, 1986, Todd Angel purchased the Rivard Sporting Goods business from Lloyd and Mary Rivard, who served the community for over 30 years.  Todd, now the sole owner, opened the NEW Rivards Sporting Goods with only six guns, three bows, and one employee. Todd’s Mom, LuElla Angel also stepped in to help out.

In 1993, Todd and his wife Terri purchased a piece of property in St Croix Falls WI, located on US Hwy 8 and 198th Street, also known as Co Rd Y, which is the current location of St. Croix Outdoors. In October 1995, the finally broke ground and on January 21, 1996, Rivards Sporting Goods re-opened, doing business as St Croix Outdoors.

Since then, St Croix Outdoors has completed 2 additions, including an indoor 40 yard archery range. Their store inventories over 500 firearms, 150 bows, over 250 rods and reels.

St. Croix Outdoors is a MN & WI FFL Dealer and Gunsmith.  We have a large selection of new and used hunting rifles, AR-15’s, AR-10’s, shot guns, handguns, and ammunition in stock. We are authorized dealers for several major firearm distributors and can special order most items for your convenience.

Our Archery Sales & Repair Department can help you find the perfect high quality bow or crossbow, or keep your personal bow tuned up to specification. We have a 40 yard indoor archery range.  Our range is available for individuals, groups, or leagues. We have 12 lanes with 3D targets and block broadhead targets available.

Our Hunting and Fishing Departments sell licenses, rods, reels, tackle, live bait, hunting gear, and accessories. We specialize in hunting and fishing advice, and stories.
